Lina Lapelyte

Hunky Bluff was an experimental all-female opera piece composed by Venice Biennale award-winning artist and musician Lina Lapelyte. Esmeralda led a choir comprised entirely of deep-voiced women that deconstructed the arias typically sung by castrati, using voice and song as a means of storytelling to examine femininity and gender. The piece was performed live at the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London 2014.
