Esmeralda writes contemporary music for instrumental, choral ensembles and film using minimal instrumentation and repeating rhythmical patterns that develop into moving, emotional worlds. She uses unusual combination of instruments and voices and is curious about sound and ways of developing sight-specific performances. In 2015 Esmeralda won the award for ‘Best Original Music’ at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and the ‘Award of Excellence for Best Score’ Indie Fest Film Awards for her work on the British short film ‘Cusp’ (Oliver Warren). In 2013 she was nominated for the British Composer Awards for her composition of Shakespeare’s ‘The Wind And The Rain’ which got later performed at The Shakespeare’s Globe.
